Data set selection due at the end of Week 7. Analysis due at the end of Week 8.
By the end of Week 7: Choose any published database from the internet (such as those from any financial or sports sites) or from your workplace. Your data set must include at least 5 variables, and you must include the source from which you obtained the data.
Email your data to Chari by the end of Week 7 – the data needed must be individual observations, not aggregated data. Data from the Census Bureau will not work for this assignment.
Your chosen database must be pre-approved by the instructor by the end of Week 6.
If the file is larger than 200 observations, randomly choose 200 observations.
Explain each variable in the file that you are analyzing. Be sure your file includes at least 3 scale variables and at least 2 nominal variables.
Conduct a descriptive analysis on any 2 interval / ratio variables you wish.
Conduct 3 different hypothesis tests of your choice using variables from your data.
Complete Regression analysis relating two of your variables.
Write a one-to-two-page summary of your findings in Word, and include necessary data in an appendix.
For this assignment, you will do your work in the Excel data file, then type up the results and explanations in a Word file, including any corresponding Excel tables/results. Be sure to use the “copy/paste as shown on screen” option for best appearance. You will then upload both your Word file and your Excel file to Blackboard in case I have any questions about the work done and need to refer to your Excel file to give feedback.
