Papers

Students will write two papers. Choose a topic that interests you. Make your topic your own. You’re not reinventing the wheel – just putting your stamp on the topic. Papers should be argumentative and driven/supported by the sources. Historical biographies/events focusing on an individual and a specific event that has helped shape world history is a fantastic methodology for your papers (but not mandatory). Your first paper can be more report oriented. Gather the facts but include a thesis: goal for your work. Your second paper will converse with your topic’s correlating historiography. Papers should not be no more than 5 pages in length, cover page, double-spaced, one-inch margins, 12-font, footnotes, (7+ sources for your final paper) and bibliography. All papers should follow ChicagoManual of Style (CMS). Papers will be turned in electronically. Points will be deducted for not following the above steps. Electronic submission only on CanvasNo late submissions will be accepted.
