In what ways are the main characters presented as outsiders; in what
ways do they resist or fight against this imposed status? In writing
about The Tuskegee Airmen, you may also want to consider Wings for This Man.
How
is the idea of nationalism regarding participation in the war effort
depicted in these films? How do the attitudes of individual characters
vary? You might also write about the relationships developed in the
films between pairs of men and the love triangle in Dark Blue World—a
typical set-up we have seen previously. Be sure not to spend time
summarizing the action; examine it critically and then present your
ideas about it.
